Temperature Converter🔒 100% local
Convert between temperature scales: Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine, and Réaumur.
Converts a temperature between Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine and Réaumur. You type a number, set the source and target scales in two dropdowns, and the page applies the standard formulas as you press Convert. The value is never transmitted; the arithmetic happens in the tab.
How to use it
- Type the temperature into the value field.
- Pick the From Unit and To Unit, or press the two-way arrow button to swap whatever is currently selected.
- Press Convert and read the result, which is always given to four decimal places; Copy Output puts it on the clipboard.
Worked example
100 (Celsius to Fahrenheit)becomes212.0000Boiling point of water at sea level.
300 (Kelvin to Celsius)becomes26.85000 (Celsius to Kelvin)becomes273.1500The output carries no unit symbol, so remember which scale you chose.
When to use it
- Checking an oven temperature given in Fahrenheit against a Celsius dial.
- Turning a lab reading in Kelvin into the Celsius value a weather app expects.
- Reading a setpoint off equipment labelled in Rankine or Réaumur and comparing it with a Celsius control.
What it does not do
- The result is fixed at four decimal places, so a round 212 comes back as 212.0000; round it yourself if you need fewer digits.
- There is no physical floor: entering -400 Celsius to Kelvin returns -126.8500 rather than refusing a value below absolute zero.
- No unit suffix is appended to the output, which makes pasting it straight into prose ambiguous.
- Rankine and Réaumur are offered but rarely used; Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin cover almost every real conversion.
