Meme Generator🔒 100% local
Create memes with custom top and bottom text on any image. Classic Impact font with outline.
Draws your chosen picture onto a canvas capped at 800 pixels wide, then stamps an uppercase top caption and bottom caption in Impact (falling back to Arial) with a black outline, sized from the image width. The output is a PNG data URL you can copy or download. The image is read from a local object URL inside the page, so it is never sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Drop an image onto the card or click to browse for one.
- Type a top and bottom caption; leave either field blank to omit that line.
- Press Generate Meme and watch the canvas redraw below.
- Download PNG or Copy Data URL to take the result away.
Worked example
any photo, top text "when it works", bottom text "ship it"becomesdata:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgo... (a longer or shorter data URL depending on your image)This is a canvas-rendered picture, not text, so there is no fixed output string to show. You must supply an image file; the captions are uppercased and drawn in white Impact with a black outline.
When to use it
- Turning a screenshot into a reaction image with two lines of text.
- Captioning a photo without opening Photoshop or uploading it to an image host.
- Producing a PNG you can drop straight into a chat client.
What it does not do
- It is a two-layer caption tool, not a template library: there is no gallery, font picker, sticker set or drag-to-position control.
- Each caption is drawn on a single line with no word wrapping, so a long caption runs off the sides of the image instead of breaking onto a second line.
- Any image wider than 800 pixels is scaled down, so the PNG you download is smaller than the file you supplied.
- The output is an uncompressed data URL; large photos produce very long strings that some chat clients and forms will truncate or reject.
