Favicon Generator🔒 100% local
Generate favicon files in all required sizes (16x16 to 512x512) from any image.

Redraws an image you choose onto a canvas at eight square sizes (16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 180, 192, and 512 pixels) and reports each PNG as a data URL, followed by the link tags that should reference the files. The image is read from an object URL created in the page, so the file you pick is never uploaded. No files are written and no download is offered.
How to use it
- Drop a PNG or JPG onto the drop zone, or click it to browse; the preview and file size appear once it loads.
- Press Generate Favicons.
- Copy the HTML block from the output and save your own resized PNGs under the file names those tags point to.
Worked example
logo.png (a square PNG dropped onto the drop zone)becomesGenerated 8 favicon sizes:
16x16: data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABAAAAAQCAYAAA...
(sizes 32, 48, 64, 128, 180, 192 and 512 follow the same pattern)
HTML Code:
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="16x16" href="favicon-16.png">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="32x32" href="favicon-32.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="180x180" href="apple-touch-icon.png">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="192x192" href="android-chrome-192.png">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="512x512" href="android-chrome-512.png">This one needs an image, so the example shows the text report rather than a computed result for a typed input. The base64 on each size line is cut to its first 60 characters and differs for every source image - the prefix shown is the standard opening of a 16x16 RGBA PNG. The five link tags are emitted verbatim for every run.
When to use it
- Working out which link tags a new site needs before you have a build step for icons.
- Checking how a logo survives being drawn at 16x16.
- Confirming that a source image has the transparency or contrast a browser tab needs.
What it does not do
- It does not save the resized PNGs and produces no .ico file. The data URLs in the report are truncated to 60 characters, so the images cannot be recovered from the output - you still need an image editor or a dedicated favicon service to create the files the tags name.
- Non-square sources are stretched into a square rather than padded or centre-cropped, which distorts logos with a wide or tall shape.
- Only the size line and the five link tags are covered: no web manifest, no apple-touch-icon start-up image, and no dark-mode variant.
