Related Tools
Vowel Count totals how often each of the five vowels appears in the text you paste, and reports the count per vowel, the vowel share of all letters, the word count, the consonants and the most common vowel, finishing with a small bar chart. Matching is case-insensitive, so A and a both count. The tally is done on the string inside the page; no copy of the text is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Paste or type the text into the Input box.
- Press Process.
- Read the per-vowel table under Output, then Copy Output if you want the whole report.
Worked example
Hello WorldbecomesText: Hello World
Total vowels: 3 (30.0% of 10 letters)
Total words: 2
Per vowel:
o: 2 ██
e: 1 █
a: 0
i: 0
u: 0
Consonants: 7
Most common: o (2)The per-vowel list is sorted by frequency and each bar is one block per occurrence.
When to use it
- Word games and puzzles - checking which vowel dominates a phrase, or whether a pangram really holds all five.
- Phonics exercises, where you want the vowel count and the consonants left over for a word.
- Spotting vowel-heavy headings when tuning text for readability or a tight character limit.
What it does not do
- Only a, e, i, o and u count. y is treated as a consonant, so "rhythm" reports 0 vowels across 6 letters.
- Accented vowels such as e-acute are excluded from both the vowel count and the letter total, because the letter count matches a-z and A-Z only.
- The report echoes only the first 60 characters of your input, while the counts always cover the whole text.
- Each bar stops at 30 blocks, so a vowel appearing more than 30 times shows a truncated bar with an ellipsis.
