Json Formatter🔒 100% local
Pretty-print JSON. Privacy-first, no server uploads, no tracking.
Related Tools
Pretty-prints a JSON document with two-space indentation, one property or array item per line, by parsing it and re-serialising it. Any valid JSON is accepted, including a top-level array, number or string. Input is handled by client-side JavaScript; the tool does not upload or store the document.
How to use it
- Paste JSON into the box.
- Run it with the Process button.
- The result lands in a read-only output area - select it or press Copy Output.
Worked example
{"id":7,"tags":["a","b"]}becomes{
"id": 7,
"tags": [
"a",
"b"
]
}Array items each get their own line, 4 spaces in under the key.
When to use it
- Reading a single-line JSON body copied from a network tab or a log.
- Lining up a document before pasting it into a README or a bug report.
- Confirming that a string really is valid JSON and not JSON-ish text.
What it does not do
- The indent is fixed at two spaces with no compact or tab option - use JS Object Formatter if you need another width.
- It only surfaces syntax errors as the words 'Invalid JSON'; the parser's message and the offending offset are discarded, so finding the comma that broke it is still your job.
- No schema checking and no key sorting: the output keeps the order the file was written in.
